GBASS - Competition Dates 2026

​

The Guernsey Bass Anglers' Sportfishing Society run a number of Club competitions during the year as well as an open competition which allows non-members to enter.

​

​Club competition times are from 6.00pm Fridays to 9.00am Mondays (with the exception of the Open Festival).  

​

Club members are reminded that all catches must be reported on WhatsApp Group "GBASS Catch Report Only", or alternatively text to Dan Norman on 07911 758350, within 24hrs.​

​

Shore Championship - Top Rod Trophy​ - the GBASS Shore Championship Top Rod trophy will be awarded to the angler with the highest total aggregate weight of fish caught from the shore between Jan 1st - 31st Dec. The minimum weight is 4lb.

​

Shore Specimen Shield​ - Best 5 Fish -  The GBASS Shore Specimen Shield trophy will be awarded to the angler with the highest aggregate weight of their top 5 heaviest fish from Jan 1st -31st Dec. The 5 fish can be caught at any time of the year and it is the aggregate weight of the top 5 fish that will count towards the final year end total. The minimum weight is 4lb.​​

Boat Championship - GBASS Boat Shield - the GBASS Boat Shield will be awarded to the angler with the highest total aggregate weight of fish caught on a boat between Jan 1st - 31st Dec. The minimum weight is 4lb.

The Peter Chance Cup - Specimen Shield for Shore and Boat - this cup is awarded to the angler with highest combined aggregate weight of fish entered in both Shore and Boat categories caught between Jan 1st - 31s Dec.

 

Winter Cup - heaviest shore caught catch and release fish entered between       1st Jan – 28th Feb

Junior Champion Cup - heaviest fish caught by a Junior between Jan 1st - 31st Dec.

​

Spring Challenge – heaviest shore caught catch and release fish entered between 1st March – 31st May

​

Autumn Shield - heaviest shore caught catch and release fish entered between 1st September - 30th November 

​

Heaviest Bait Caught – heaviest shore catch and release fish caught on bait entered between 1st Jan – 31st Dec

Heaviest Lure Caught - heaviest shore catch and release fish caught on a lure entered between 1st Jan – 31st Dec

​

Weekend Competition – Angler who has won the most competition weekends in the year (in the event of a tie, heaviest aggregate weight of the competition weekend fish caught by the anglers tied will decide the winner)

​​

Pairs Competition - heaviest fish by a Paired angler per Comp weekend (max 2 fish per pair each competition weekend)
